Paris Major Limousines : limo services with chauffeurs
Newsletter - April 2008 n°4

Dear PML's Friends

I was so exited about sending you my last gazette with information about Oslo , London and Paris that I forgot to mention the program I am just launching now.  This tour, around Marie-Antoinette, is the first on the list of tours I am scheduling for the summer season. Other tours will cover the French cultural heritage, the art of living, and for the shoppers, there will be a tour dedicated to refinement and shopping.

For the cultural tours, we are working closely with professional and licensed guides who will not only be with you or your clients in our chauffeur driven cars or minibus,  but will also accompany you (or them) while visiting museums and exhibition places.  The cost of these tours is well worth the experience and memories you will have.

Below are my suggestions : Come to Paris and enjoy a full day visit on the steps of Queen Marie-Antoinette (one of the most misunderstood and hated queens in French history). T he visit includes the Tuileries gardens (to evoke the palace where she lived in Paris).

A visit to the Garnier Opera House (Sophie Coppola used this setting in her film as the Opera where Marie-Antoinette used to go). The Temple square, formerly the Temple prison where the Royal family was kept after the monarchy was abolished. The Conciergerie: the prison, where the monarchs were condemned to death. Marie Antoinette lived there during her last excruciating moments.
The
Square of Concorde : Louis the XVI and Marie Antoinette were beheaded there.

We will finish the itinerary with a visit to the Grand Palais Exhibit (Press release). This exhibit (March 15th till June 30th) traces the fascinating life and tragedy of the Queen from her childhood in Austria, the early years of her marriage and the path to her tragic end in 1793. If time allows, we could go to the Square Louis XVI, formerly the Madeleine cemetery in Paris. It’s here where the bodies of the King and the Queen were taken to be buried in a pit. Today, inside an “Expiatory Chapel” an altar indicates the place where the royal remains were found.

This program is organized in two sessions, morning and afternoon, so that there is plenty of time to enjoy one of the wonderful restaurants in Paris for lunch.
